For buildings with hard-to-reach or otherwise inaccessible exterior or interior glass, Pro-Bel recommends the installation of a custom-made monorail system. Monorail systems are typically used in conjunction with platforms, although they also accommodate both single work cages and bosun’s chairs. At times indispensable, monorails are an essential tool for workers who need to access the underside of building overhangs, sloped glazing, sky lighting or any other tasks that may require continuous horizontal movement. Pro-Bel monorail systems are comprised of an aluminum rail section that houses an electrically powered traversing trolley. As one of the more adaptable supports in the Pro-Bel catalogue, our skilled engineers will design a monorail system that perfectly caters to your building’s every suspended maintenance need.
This platform is suspended from trolleys secured to soffit mounted
steel I-bean monorail. Recessed facade at upper level requries
the platform to be switched from an interior monorail to an exterior
monorail and vice versa using a turning hub or "turntable".
This application was completed on the Former Enron Building 2
in Houston, Texas.
