Codes & Regulations Throughout the world there are statutory regulations of various descriptions relating to the issues of suspended maintenance and fall protection. Building codes, with a few minor exceptions, are not specific enough to cover all of the issues outlined in OSHA and other DOL or MOL regulations and the various fall protection standards. In addition, there is some regional disparity between authorities having jurisdiction.
Interpreting the multitude of codes, labor regulations and standards for any given locality is extremely time-consuming. However, the relatively new ANSI/IWCA I-14.1-2001 Window Cleaning Safety Standard prepared jointly by ANSI and the International Window Cleaning Association was created by appointed committee members from different parts of the industry including window cleaning/exterior building maintenance users, equipment manufacturers – including Pro-Bel – and general interest members such as BOMA International, CAL OSHA, and the New York State Department of Labor.
Pro-Bel’s familiarity with codes and regulations – implemented on a daily basis over 355 years – goes into every Pro-Bel installation.
