Pro-Bel stabilization systems are designed to keep suspension equipment (including platforms, cages, and bosun’s chairs) in contact with a building’s façade, thereby preventing undesired movement. The lack of a sufficient stabilization system can place workers in harm’s way, especially in the event of excessive wind. Additionally, stabilization systems help to protect building faces from damage caused by the potential impact of suspension equipment. It should be noted that stabilization systems are mandatory in the case of permanent powered platforms that are purchased specifically for a given building.
This video shows what happens to a platform in high winds, when not properly installed with stabilization systems to secure the platform to the building.
